Celebrating Reiki in Northern Virginia
Welcome to the Reiki Sanctuary of Northern Virginia Blog where we can talk about the positive benefits of Reiki. Reiki is beneficial for ourselves, our loved ones, and for our beloved pets!
Benefits of Reiki
Many people love receiving and giving Reiki because Reiki is so gentle and yet can be so effective for deep relaxation, well-being, personal growth, and spiritual growth. The good news is that Reiki recipients don’t have to feel unwell in order to receive a Reiki treatment session. They can be feeling great, and after the Reiki treatment, they tend to feel much more grounded and centered. Animals also love Reiki! Many animals respond to receiving Reiki, and distance Reiki works really well for animals too.
We also can give our shrubs and flowers Reiki. Many people who garden, incorporate giving Reiki into their regular gardening tasks, and they say the plants and flowers look healthier and live longer. Reiki is complementary to everything else we do to take care of ourselves. So we could be getting physical therapy, or chiropractic work, and the Reiki will gently support us. Reiki is a great balancer, and when we are balanced, it helps us move toward well-being on all levels.
Reiki for Personal and Spiritual Growth
Reiki is a path that allows for personal and spiritual growth. Some have found more clarity and focus in their daily lives. They find it easier to make decisions. Some have found that those things which no longer serve them, just fall away or it’s easier for them to let go of those extraneous things. Some examples of this are: issues they’ve carried around with them for years, things they have been worried about, or unsupportive words of others that have affected them.
Reiki allows many people to be more in the present moment and to realize more clearly those things that are supportive and those things that are not supportive to their quality of life in the here-and-now. Many have found that Reiki allows them to feel more deeply the presence of their higher power or the universe/source and the divine presence within.
About Reiki Master Yvonne Gleason
I love teaching Reiki so that others can reap the benefits of self-Reiki, distance Reiki, and hands-on Reiki for themselves and their loved ones. Reiki is so innate for all of us and for many who take the training, it feels a lot like “coming home to themselves.” That’s what it felt like for me.
I came into Reiki as a child but I didn’t know what it was called. I just knew we had the ability to help ourselves with the universal energy. So I used this universal energy on myself for skinned knees and paper cuts and those areas healed more quickly than when I didn’t send the energy to them. Decades later, I found a book on Reiki and was drawn to it. I opened it up and began reading about what I had been doing as a child. So, finally, I knew what it was called! I began to receive Reiki treatments and informally gave the universal energy to my friends. I was always grateful for the benefits my friends received. They would call me the next day and say they were feeling much better. I would express my gratitude to higher power/the universe.
Through regular meditation sessions, I began to be guided to formally study Reiki. I took the Reiki training and became certified as a Reiki Master Teacher. It allowed me to learn much more about what I had been trying to do as a child. I found that when I received training in Reiki, it ramped up the energy flow. I also learned many techniques on how to use the energy to help others. I began my Reiki practice working with dogs and cats, and sometimes their owners wanted Reiki too. Now I only give Reiki to animals via distance Reiki because it’s proven to be equally effective, if not more so than in-person sessions. Many animals have the ability to feel the Reiki quite easily because they are so intuitive. But that’s for another blog post! 🙂 So, stay tuned . . . and thanks for being a part of this “Reiki celebration”!
Many Reiki blessings,
Yvonne Gleason
